It's confirmed the bull is on the loose. One should still be careful in choosing what stocks to buy, though... Remember, they don't call it STUCK market for nothing! Haha

Random Thoughts

Thank God it’s Friday! There’s nothing like the weekend to look forward to.

I initially planned to spend the night to grab some much needed sleep but a quick call from my good friend made me make some last minute changes in my plan.

Before meeting Dam and Stech to watch Marie Antoinette, I went for a haircut. I miss my short hair!

We had a nice dinner at Chicken Bacolod Inasal… all that cholesterol!!! Well, we don’t eat there often anyway, so I guess it’s okay.

We had the famous chicken inasal (grilled chicken) and the yummy chikinini (fried chicken skin)…especially when you put it in rice. Don’t eat it often though or you’ll die early.

After that, we went to see Marie Antoinette. Hmmm, the storyline was garbage but I liked the cinematography! Kirsten Dunst must’ve been really happy to get that role! All she did was pretend to shop, eat, gamble and party! The dialogue was crap, they would be lucky if they were able to fill in three pages for the script.

However, one movie did keep us entertained--- the Korean couple beside me. Seems that they were putting on a performance of their own that night. It was my first time to experience having the person beside me making out, eewwww. It’s a good thing that the movie was not really worth watching or else I would’ve told the kids to keep it down. After the movie, we waited for the couple to leave before us so that we could see their faces. After all, you have to give credit where credit is due.

Greenbelt was really packed considering it was already almost midnight when we left. What was surprising was that there were still a lot of cars in EDSA. It took us 40 minutes from Makati to our area, long enough to finish a whole CD. Normally, it would only take me 15 minutes!!!

Philippine Shares Hit Fresh 9-Year High

MANILA, Philippines (AP) -- Philippine shares soared to a fresh nine-year high Thursday, surpassing the key 2,800-point resistance level on upbeat economic, fiscal and corporate prospects.

The benchmark 30-company Philippine Stock Exchange Index rose 63.55 points, or 2.3 percent, to 2,818.83, its best finish since June 27, 1997. Wednesday, the index fell 1.3 percent.

"Considering the value turnover and the quality of the run-up, the market can still go up during the next session," said First Grade Holdings managing director Astro del Castillo.

He predicted the market could reach a target level of 2,900 points at the end of the year. Given that the 2,800-point level is the year-end target set by a number of brokerage houses, analysts said they are now considering a review of their numbers as it appears the market may extend its rally.

Grace Cerdenia, head of operations at local brokerage 2TradeAsia, said Asia was drawing considerable investor interest because of its prevailing positive economic fundamentals.

In the Philippines, the market's bullishness was fueled by the government's success so far in putting its fiscal house in order. "I think the administration is on track in terms of hitting the bulk of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's commitments," said Cerdenia. Foremost is Arroyo's vow to balance the budget by 2008.

Philippine Long Distance Telephone was the most actively traded stock, rising 5.2 percent to 2,545 pesos.
Alliance Tuna International Inc. surged 43 percent to 2.85 pesos following a successful debut Wednesday after an initial public offering last month.

Ayala Corp. ended up 2 percent at 500 pesos, ahead of what analysts anticipate to be positive nine-month financial results due later Thursday.

Megaworld dropped 3.7 percent to close at 2.08 pesos on persistent concerns over the potential dilutive effect of the property concern's planned stock rights offering.

The peso fell slightly Thursday. The U.S. dollar closed at 49.95 pesos, up from 49.89 pesos Wednesday.

It’s the Starbucks Planner Season Again!!!!!

For the past 3 years, I’ve been drinking loads of Starbucks products just to get my hands on their planner. I know that it’s such a lame gimmick and their planner doesn’t look that nice but there’s something that makes me want to buy 20+ drinks to get my hands on the planner. That’s a good marketing for you, I know that I’m being fooled into drinking more Starbucks than usual but, I don’t care... gotta get my hands on the planner.

Last year, Charles and I were able to get 4 planners. That’s 60 something drinks in just 2 months. I wonder how many planners we’ll be able to get this year. This is becoming a Christmas tradition for us... hahaha

I wonder how Starbucks’ FS looks like for the month of December. =D Heh!

Recommendations:

1. Tea of the Day
2. Mocha Frapuccino
3. Iced White Mocha

I don’t really like those seasonal drinks. The gingerbread coffee tastes awful when served cold. Okay when hot, though.

The Eighties is Back!

The eighties fashion is back! It must be hard for those trendsetters to think of something new if they have to resort to going back to the eighties. I'm not really a big fan of eighties fashion but I guess it can be worse. Here's a list of what's in and what's not now that fashion is getting an overhaul.

What's In

1. denim skirt worn over tight leggings
2. oversized shirts (sometimes, worn with pads) ewwww
3. big hair and spiked bangs
4. chaleco vests

What's Out

1. school girl skirts worn with long socks (thank goodness, this one's out)
2. bohemian blouse
3. rebonded hair
